Dr. Jean Marshall recognized for distinguished scientific leadership

December 17, 2018.

I3V Wave 1 Team Lead, Jean Marshall, is awarded The Canadian Society of Immunology Bernhard Cinader Award. This award is named in honor of Dr. Hardy Cinader who was the inaugural award recipient at the first CSI meeting held in 1987. Dr. Cinader was a member of a small group of Immunologists that “founded” immunology in Canada in the 1960’s. Dr. Cinader was a outstanding immunochemist with a strong personality and a passionate patron of native Canadian art and artists.

The Bernhard Cinader Award is awarded to an Immunologist working in Canada who is an exceptional researcher and also has something “extra”. The “extra” could be teaching, art, outreach, writing, - nearly anything in which the researcher excels. The nominee must hold a current full CSI membership in order to be eligible. Nominations are accepted by letter and should include the exceptional abilities of the scientist nominated. The award includes travel reimbursement to the meeting as well as a plaque along with a cash prize ($500). The award is given at the CSI meeting.
