2020 I3V Graduate Studentships
Description
The I3V Graduate Studentships are intended to provide support to students who are pursuing a master’s or PhD degree at Dalhousie University, and whose research aligns with one or more of the four I3V research themes (infection, immunity, inflammation and vccinology). Eligible applicants will be mentored by I3V members. Candidates are expected to have an exceptionally high potential for future research achievement and productivity. At least five awards are available this year.
Deadline
All applications are due at the Medical Research Development Office by 5:00pm on May 25th, 2020.
Funds Available
A maximum trainee stipend of $20,000 will be available for the studentship for a two-year period. This stipend may be used as a top-up to other support to a maximum of $25K at the master’s level and $30K at the PhD level, from all sources of funding.
Eligibility
1. The applicant must:
a. Be a research trainee, and have effectively started their program (by September 1, 2020).
b. Be a full-time registered student at Dalhousie University as either a master’s student or a PhD student (international students are eligible).
c. Have a faculty supervisor who is a member of the I3V Wave Team.

d. Not currently hold any other major award (>$15,000) such as, but not limited to, Killam, NSERC, CIHR.
2. Priority will be given to applicants conducting research that promotes collaboration between I3V members.
3. This award must be accepted within 15 working days of the date of offer or the award will be offered to the next fundable applicant.
4. This award is available to start as of Sept 1, 2020. In special circumstances the start date may be extended.
5. Funds committed to students who subsequently withdraw or graduate during the year must be cancelled immediately and remaining funds revert to the I3V Wave Team Scholarship Fund.
