Molly Appeal support for I3V research
In the fall of 2018, the Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation Molly Appeal fundraising campaign featured essential equipment for I3V researchers; a high-throughput imaging flow cytometer called the ImageStreamX Mark II. This equipment allows researchers to visualize 5,000 cells per second, inside-and-out, which is 125 times faster than conventional cell-analysis equipment. With matching funds from Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and the Canadian Foundation for Innovation, this equipment should be in place by the fall of 2019. By placing it in Faculty of Medicine core facilities (known as CORES), we are ensuring that the ImageStreamX will be properly maintained and a broad base of users will receive access and training from expert staff.
